Chelsea 'submit €120m offer' for Enzo Fernández | OneFootball

Chelsea’s late swoop to sign Benfica midfielder Enzo Fernández is gathering pace after a €120m bid was submitted on Monday.

That is according to The Athletic, who report that the big-spending Blues are determined to get a deal done for the World Cup winner before Tuesday’s transfer deadline.

Chelsea tried and failed with attempts to sign Fernández earlier this month but resurrected their interest on Sunday and are now confident of completing the deal following their latest offer.

They have already had a busy January, spending almost £200m on the arrivals of Mikhailo Mudryk, Benoît Badiashile, Noni Madueke, João Félix, Andrey Santos and David Fofana.

Chelsea’s interest in the Argentine stems from their eagerness to find a long-term successor to Jorginho, whose Stamford Bridge future is uncertain, with his contract up this summer.

They, like Arsenal, have also had an offer for Brighton’s Moisés Caicedo rejected this month.
