But the Englishman believes having Werner in the team and in such great form pushes him to improve his levels as well.

Abraham has now scored for the Blues in three successive matches.

He told reporters: "I have always believed in myself, so I told myself I've got to get back in that team, work hard every day and improve. When your chance comes, grab it with your two hands and that's what I feel like I'm doing.

"Every time I step out there, I always know there is competition and that I have to be at my best - 100 per cent.

"So that's the way I look at it. We drive one another. You have to put on a performance every single time."
