The Blues have been in contact with United over bringing the Argentine international to Stamford Bridge for some time, and “talks have now advanced”.

Garnacho reportedly expects to move to Chelsea this summer. Either he joins the West London outfit or he stays put at Manchester United.

Despite coming under fire for his poor decision-making in the final third, Garnacho could be a brilliant pick-up for Chelsea.

Garnacho scored 11 goals and provided ten assists for Man United last season. Those numbers caught the eyes of suitors like Napoli and Chelsea.

He has Premier League experience, having netted 16 times and provided 10 assists in 93 appearances.

Using Transfermarkt stats, Garnacho ranks third for goal contributions among Chelsea’s wingers with 38 across 108 appearances.

Only Cole Palmer (48) and Estevao (48) have delivered more goals and assists.

Since 2017, only four times has an Under-21 winger played 2000+ mins in a top-flight league, took more than 3 shots per game, and had more than 2.5 successful carries into the box per game.

The first is Lamine Yamal, the second is Estevao, while Garnacho takes third and fourth (Fbref).

Garnacho has the ability. Chelsea will be getting a serious weapon, and United have given him almost 100 league appearances to allow him to develop.

Hailed as ‘very brave and very confident’ by former boss Erik ten Hag, he can take the next steps towards becoming a world-class player at Chelsea.

Chelsea reportedly did background checks. They are satisfied enough to pursue a deal for the 21-year-old.

He will likely provide competition for Jamie Bynoe-Gittens on the left, further strengthening the attack.

Meanwhile, Chelsea are sweating on the fitness of defender Levi Colwill, who reportedly picked up an injury in training.

The Blues could enter the market for a replacement.
