Chelsea have stepped up their search for a new technical director to replace the departed Michael Emenalo.
According to The Telegraph, the Blues decided to prioritise the transfer window and managerial position before focusing on filling the void left by Emenalo whose exit came last November before he joined Ligue 1 side Monaco.
Director Marina Granovskaia has been in charge of player purchased and sales taking on his key responsibilities since Emenalo’s departure and now the club feels it is the right time to consider their options.
It is understood new manager Maurizio Sarri would prefer the candidate to speak Italian and is keen to work closely with whoever the club decide to appoint.
The west London club made an excellent start to the Premier League season with a 3-0 victory away to Huddersfield on Saturday and face Arsenal on Saturday evening at Stamford Bridge.
