Cole Palmer has revealed what makes him tick on the pitch ahead of Chelsea’s game against Crystal Palace on Sunday.

The 22-year-old capped off an incredible season by being named PFA Young Player of the Year to go alongside his Premier League Young Player of the Year award.

Palmer took the league by storm following his arrival from Manchester City on deadline day last summer, scoring 22 Premier League goals and providing 11 assists, the most goal contributions in the league.

Palmer reveals what makes him tick on the pitch

Following his breakout season there’s going to be added expectation on Palmer with many wondering if he can repeat his form of last season.

Whilst that’s clearly going to be a difficult task the England international hasn’t started the season badly and scored a brilliant lobbed finish and got three assists in the recent 6-2 win against Wolves.

Palmer scored his first goal of the season in the victory against Wolves.

Speaking in the matchday programme for the Palace game Palmer revealed he likes the responsibility of people looking for him to score or assist.

“Yeah, I do like responsibility,” Palmer said.

“I like people looking to me to score or assist, and stuff like that. I do enjoy it.

“The way I’ve been playing, if I then don’t play like that for a game, then people will start questioning, if you see what I mean.

Palmer has such an impressive attitude and mentality for a player so young, despite being relatively inexperienced with last season his first campaign of playing regular football.

Palmer and his team-mates will be looking to bounce back from Thursday night’s defeat against Servette with a win against Crystal Palace and head into the international on a positive note.
