Chelsea are into the FA Cup semi-final after a narrow victory over Manchester City at Wembley.

A solitary second half strike from Hakim Ziyech was enough for the Blues to book a spot in their first final under Thomas Tuchel.

Scorers: Ziyech 55′

Ziyech had the ball in the net for Chelsea early on, but the goal was quickly and correctly ruled out for an offside against Timo Werner in the build-up.

Ben Chilwell then had a great chance to score when he was picked out at the back post by a Reece James cross, but the left-back was unable to steer his volley on target.

City’s much-changed side looked disjointed in the first half and they were dealt a big blow when Kevin De Bruyne limped off with what appeared to be an ankle injury early in the second half.

And moments later Chelsea took the lead. Timo Werner was released down the left channel and he squared for Ziyech to finish into a gaping goal.

Ziyech then had a great chance to make it 2-0 when Rúben Dias made a mess of a ball over the top, but City goalkeeper Zack Steffen made the save from the one-on-one.

Dias then had City’s best chance of the game when Rodri headed the ball towards him at a set-piece, but the Portuguese defender could only direct his header well over the bar.

Raheem Sterling then blazed an effort over the bar with his left foot, but Gabriel Jesus was offside in the build-up anyway.

Substitute Christian Pulisic then had a late goal ruled out for offside, before Kepa Arrizabalaga denied Rodri with a save deep into stoppage time.
