Chelsea sign Germany midfielder Sjoeke Nüsken | OneFootball

Chelsea have struck to complete the signing of German international Sjoeke Nüsken from Eintracht Frankfurt on a three-year contract.

“I wanted to move to the Women’s Super League because it’s a good league, English football is very cool to play in and it’s the right thing to do now. I’m very excited and happy to be at Chelsea and I’m looking forward to next season,” Nüsken said.

The 22-year-old midfielder had attracted interest from some of the Blues’ WSL and UWCL rivals but is heading to west London this summer.

“Sjoeke is a fantastic young midfield player and her ability to play the ball deep into the opponents’ half is not her only standout strength, there is everything from her interceptions, her reading of the game and her overall presence,” said Chelsea boss Emma Hayes.

“She’s dynamic, good aerially, and is going to be a fantastic signing for this club.”

Both-footed and versatile, Nüsken has won 15 Germany caps and impressed this weekend as she scored in Frankfurt’s shock 4-0 win over Frauen-Bundesliga giants VfL Wolfsburg.
