Chelsea are set to reward Moises Caicedo with an improved contract this summer, according to The Telegraph.

The Ecuadorian midfielder has been the spine of the team since joining the club from Brighton & Hove Albion.

After shaking off a horror start in Chelsea blue, Caicedo’s influence in the middle of the park has been nothing short of remarkable.

His impact was recognised at Chelsea’s end-of-season ceremony on Sunday night when he was honoured with both the Men’s Player of the Year and Players’ Player of the Year awards.

That came after Chelsea’s impressive 3-1 win against Liverpool, which saw talisman Cole Palmer return to the score sheet for the first time in 19 games.

Caicedo has proven to be one of the best midfielders in the world, and Chelsea want to make sure it reflects in his next deal.

The 23-year-old joined Chelsea in 2023 for a British-record £115 million, and his current deal runs until the summer of 2031, giving the Blues plenty of security over his long-term future.

Chelsea have made it clear that players who prove themselves or exceed expectations will be rewarded.
