Chelsea’s transfer splurge continues this window as the club inches closer to the arrival of winger Noni Madueke.
According to a report in the Netherlands, the Premier League side has reached an agreement with PSV Eindhoven in a deal worth up to €40m.
During his time at PSV, Madueke made 80 appearances in his young career, registering 20 goals and 14 assists.
And because of his rapid rise, current manager Ruud van Nistelrooy previously admitted it would be difficult to keep the England U21 player around.
“I know that they (Chelsea) want Madueke. I would rather not let him go, but I can’t stop big clubs from showing such a massive interest in him,” said Van Nistelrooy.
“Madueke has created the interest by himself, because of his terrific qualities and his performances here in the Netherlands and in European games.
The 20-year-old would be the latest attacking starlet to join the Blues under Graham Potter following the arrivals of João Félix and Mykhaylo Mudryk.
While in the Eredivisie, Madueke was a key figure for PSV alongside Cody Gakpo who recently departed for Liverpool.
