Chelsea have completed the signing of Candian international and five-time Women’s Champions League winner Kadeisha Buchanan from Lyon.
Buchanan was central to Lyon’s success as they claimed an eighth Champions League, and Buchanan’s fifth, last month.
The 26-year-old will become the first Chelsea player to wear the number 26 since John Terry left the club in 2017.
“Kadeisha is a serial winner at the top of her game and I have no doubt we are signing a world-class player who has proven herself on the world stage,” said Emma Hayes.
“She is going to bring a quality to our group and with her brilliant personality and character, we think she will be really liked within the dressing room. We look forward to welcoming Kadeisha this summer.”
