Chelsea are reportedly interested in a Premier League player who ‘plays his game like Cole Palmer’ according to one report out this week.

Being compared to Cole Palmer is a massive compliment for any players these days, with Palmer becoming a big star in world football recently.

EXCLUSIVE! Liverpool and Manchester City register interest in Chelsea fan favourite!

But a fan website, Saints Marching, thinks the comparisons of their player Tyler Dibling is lazy.

Dibling has also been compared to Manchester City’s Jack Grealish, but the site is unhappy with these comparisons.

Former player Dion Dublin compared his playing style to Cole Palmer.

In his own words, Dublin said: “Do you know what it is? I don’t want to put any pressure on him, but he plays his game like Cole Palmer, doesn’t he? He plays free and easy, and he gets himself into good positions, rolls players and takes the ball well.”

The publication reacts to that and says:

‘Cole Palmer is one of the best players in the world right now and he is playing at the height of his game. However, it goes back to what I was saying before – It could be harmful in the long-run to make such comparisons early on.

‘There is a fascination within the English media with looking at overperforming players from stuggling clubs and paying heightened compliments to them.’

Dibling looks like a real player

Dibling, who was at Chelsea in their youth academy, has been linked with a return to the club earlier this week.

I can see why Chelsea might be keeping an eye on the youngster, he certainly looks like a player with superb potential.

But whether this is actually one to genuinely watch now or not, remains to be seen. Dibling just needs to keep his head down and go about his business to continue his good progression.
