Chelsea have reportedly dropped out of the race to sign one free-scoring striker this summer as West Ham United move in.

The news comes off the back of Chelsea only managing to draw 2-2 at home with Ipswich Town on Sunday, a team who are destined to be in the Championship again next season.

EXCLUSIVE! Chelsea now eyeing 21-year-old attacker from Spain this summer!

One BBC pundit has pinned the blame on the players for the draw on Sunday, saying that they have to take a long hard look at themselves after that poor performance.

And head coach Enzo Maresca has also picked out two of his players for making some mistakes in the game which he believes was not good enough and cost them.

Overall though it was so poor, and blame really must be shared between the head coach, the manager, and those who have built an unbalanced squad at Chelsea that severely lacks quality experience and balance.

Chelsea are looking to sign a new striker this summer, this is news we all know about and hear about on a daily basis. But the names seem to change and we keep hearing different stories in the lead up to the summer transfer window.

West Ham have moved to the front of the queue to sign Jonathan David, according to a report in the Mail Online.

The newspaper’s Chelsea correspondent Kieran Gill, has revealed this week that the Hammers have moved ahead of Chelsea in the race to sign the Lille frontman.

David is a free-scoring centre forward but it seems Chelsea’s interest has cooled a bit due to having other targets ahead of him, such as Liam Delap on Ipswich Town of course. West Ham might have a bit of a free run at David now.
