Chelsea remain interested in unlikely Marcus Rashford transfer

Chelsea reportedly remain interested in signing Marcus Rashford.

With reports this morning suggesting that Manchester United are planning a new contract offer for Rashford, and knowing his current deal expires in the summer, I don’t think the Red Devils will entertain any interest from a rival.

The Blues went on a spending spree during the summer, bringing in the likes of Raheem Sterling and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, but they still appear short in attack. Graham Potter could even welcome back Romelu Lukaku if they struggle to find an upgrade.

Rashford’s form is on the rise after his first goal at a major international tournament on Monday. He has managed to take his domestic form onto the international stage, scoring with his third touch against Iran at the World Cup.

According to journalist Simon Jones, who covers Chelsea for his Substack followers, the Blues have not ended their interest in Rashford as Todd Boehly and a new-look recruitment team assess the team with regards to potential new arrivals.

United clearly see Rashford as part of Erik ten Hag’s long-term plans. There’s no way we’ll let him move to Chelsea next summer. Not in a million years.
