The 22-year-old was substituted in the 90th minute of his country’s 1-1 Euro 2024 qualifying draw against England in Poland on Saturday after signalling that he felt pain in his calf.

Mudryk fell awkwardly as he attempted to change direction under pressure from Three Lions defender Kyle Walker.

However, on Sunday Mudryk took part in Ukraine’s recovery session which featured some running on grass at the Fair Play Arena just outside Wroclaw.

He is listed in manager Serhiy Rebrov’s group who are due to fly to Milan on Monday ahead of a pivotal match against Italy at the San Siro on Tuesday.

Ukraine and Italy are increasingly battling for second place in Group C, with England still strong favourites to qualify for Euro 2024 as group winners.

Gareth Southgate’s unbeaten side currently top the group with 13 points from five matches, with Ukraine second on seven points having played a game more than Italy, who are on four.

Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino will hope that Mudryk returns to Cobham fully fit with up to 11 first-team players currently out injured ahead of the Premier League trip to Bournemouth on Sunday.

New signing Romeo Lavia is currently being assessed after an ankle injury sustained in training on Thursday, joining the likes of Reece James, Christopher Nkunku and Wesley Fofana in the treatment room.
