Chelsea have been scouting Napoli duo Victor Osimhen and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, according to journalist Simon Phillips.
Both players have been in fine form this season, and it looks like that has caught the attention of those at Stamford Bridge.
According to the football website, the west London club could sign a new striker next summer and have the 23-year-old on their list.
His Napoli team-mate Kvaratskhelia is also attracting interest right now, with the same outlet claiming that Chelsea’s Premier League rivals Manchester City, Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain are all keeping tabs on the Georgian attacker.
Kvaratskhelia only joined Luciano Spalletti’s side from Dinamo Batumi during the summer, but it looks like he could already be off.
Phillips has told GIVEMESPORT that Chelsea have sent scouts to Napoli before and that both Osimhen and Kvaratskhelia are on their radar right now.
Speaking to GMS, the journalist said: “Chelsea have scouted Osimhen for years now under the previous ownership and have pondered a move before.
“I’m told that recently, scouting missions for Napoli have reignited at Chelsea, and Osimhen in particular was one of the players being watched, as well as winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.”
The Blues could soon find themselves in need of a new centre-forward. They, of course, only signed Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in the summer, but he is now 33.
Considering that, it would not be a surprise if Chelsea did try to recruit another striker soon, and Osimhen could be a good option.
As already mentioned, the Nigerian has impressed this season, scoring nine goals in 12 appearances in all competitions.
And it has been a similar story with Kvaratskhelia, who has eight in 17 for Napoli. With City, Real Madrid and PSG all said to be interested in the Georgia international, though, signing him is not going to be an easy task for Chelsea.
The same probably applies to Osimhen, too. After all, the former Lille man is such an important player for Spalletti. If anyone wants him, he is probably going to command a large fee.
Ultimately, it makes sense for Chelsea and Graham Potter to look at Osimhen and Kvaratskhelia, but landing the £87m-rated Napoli duo could be tricky for the west London club.
