Chelsea have struck an agreement with Atlético Madrid to sign striker João Félix on loan for the rest of the season.

That is according to The Athletic’s David Ornstein, who reports that an €11 million fee has been verbally agreed between both clubs to see the Portugal international move to Stamford Bridge until June.

There was also interest in Félix’s signature from fellow Premier League sides Manchester United and Arsenal but although nothing has been signed yet, the Blues have now won the race.

It is not the last piece of business Chelsea are expected to make this month, having already brought in France international Benoît Badiashile from Monaco and David Fofana from Molde.

Attacking reinforcements are reported to be the priority, particularly as injury problems pile up.

Félix has five goals and three assists in 20 appearances for the Colchoneros this season.
