Chelsea‘s 2022-23 pre-season dates have been revealed as the team will be playing in the United States of America.
Chelsea will be hoping to compete well in the Premier League in the 2022-23 season. The pre-season will begin in July 2022, which is the first phase in their preparations for the new season, and it will take place in the United States of America.
The Blues won 2-1 at Stamford Bridge against Watford to finish third in the English Premier League for the 2021-2022 season. Ross Barkley scored the game’s winning goal late in the game.
Thomas Tuchel’s side began the season as one of the favourites to win the league; however, injuries and other issues derailed their hopes of capturing the league title after an incredible previous season in which they won the UEFA Champions League.
Things didn’t work out for them as their form plummeted in December 2021. This with the flurry of activity off the pitch saw many Blues fans wanting the 2021/22 season to end quickly.
With new owners and a summer break, excitement is at an all-time high for Chelsea’s 2022-23 Pre-season.
This is what we know about their schedule and opponents so far:
The fixtures for the 2022/23 season have not been announced yet. The Blues’ FA Cup final loss to Liverpool, saw them miss out on a place in the Community Shield against Manchester City on July 30 2022 at the King Power Stadium.
When the Premier League resumes on the 6th and 7th of August, Chelsea will begin their 2022/23 season. When the fixtures are released on June 16th 2022, Tuchel’s team will know their fate, and preparation can begin.
Chelsea has confirmed that they will travel to the United States in July for the ‘Clash of Nations’ tour. The tour is part of the FC Series, which includes clubs from all over the world.
The Blues will play two unnamed international opponents around the United States before facing Arsenal in a London derby in Orlando, where the “Florida Cup” will be on the line.
Chelsea technical and performance advisor Petr Cech said: “We’ve always had a lot of success on our US tours, taking so many fans to the stadiums and giving them the opportunity to witness Chelsea FC play live.”
“We’ve happily created a large fan base in the United States, and we’ve seen that audience grow year after year.”
A statement from the club reads: “The club will join under new management. The Blues will only travel if the club’s sale has been completed and the club is no longer subject to UK government penalties. If the game is cancelled, ticket refunds will be granted.”
Chelsea 2022-23 Pre-season will see the Blues return to the United States of America to begin their first round of preparations for the next English Premier League season, which is set to begin in early August 2022.
They have scheduled three Pre-Season Games in the United States of America, with two local clubs and one London club, Arsenal, who are also preparing in the country for the next season.
Here are Chelsea’s three pre-season fixtures in America:
In due course, broadcast details and official start times will be released. Chelsea’s pre-season matches were broadcast live on the club’s app, The 5th Stand, last year.
Chelsea’s match vs Arsenal may be purchased through the FC Series website, which is hosting a number of events in Florida.
Tickets for all three Chelsea games are also available through Ticketmaster. Depending on the type of ticket purchased, prices range from $45,00 to $195,00.
