In an interesting development, Denis Zakaria who is on loan from Juventus, leads the fastest recorded speed for a midfielder in the Premier League this season.

Of course, Zakaria is not slow, but I don’t think anyone expected the speed he has shown to cover ground and bomb forwards this season, he has played as the more attacking player of Graham Potter’s double pivot since arriving last summer.

Denis is injured right now but he was showing some really promising form before that setback with some fans even calling for Chelsea to activate the 25 million pound buy option in his loan deal next summer.

It remains to be seen whether Chelsea retain the services of Denis next season, especially with the midfield being an area where the club are looking to spend, what is for certain though is that this loan spell is going nothing like Saul’s loan spell did under Thomas Tuchel, and that is a positive sign.
