Chelsea player completes West Ham medical ahead of move

Emerson Palmieri’s move to West Ham – which last week briefly looked like it was on the rocks after a disagreement over personal terms – will go through in the next day or so after the Italy international completed a medical with the Hammers.

It’s a move that suits all parties, and it’s a relief to hear it hasn’t all collapsed on the basis of wages or bonuses, which would have been a really silly reason all round.

He arrives just in time to help West Ham recover after a dire start to the Premier League season, which sees them rock bottom of the table.

So it seems that it’s a done deal, after years of loans and attempts to shift him for more than £20m. It looks like we have finally settled for a sum of about £13m.
