Chelsea have an issue with one of their key players ahead of facing Everton in the Premier League this evening.

The Blues are playing in the Monday Night Football Special live on Sky Sports and after West Ham lost yesterday, they could really capitalise on that by getting all three points at Stamford Bridge tonight against a relegation battling side.

Sources: Manager names on Chelsea’s shortlist to replace Mauricio Pochettino revealed!

Everton have just had more points docked though due to breaking financial rules, so they are going to be well and truly fired up for this one and will not be an easy team to beat at all. Mauricio Pochettino’s side could really use the win if they are to stand any chance of getting some sort of European spot come the end of the season. They do have games in hand of most ahead of them though, and a couple of wins in a row could go a long way to securing some European football back at The Bridge for next season, even if that is just a Europa competition of some sort.

As has become the norm for Chelsea though in recent seasons, they are struggling with injury problems yet again. Raheem Sterling is the latest victim to the injury table, although it’s unsure just how bad he is. He is also unwell, and according to The Daily Mirror, called in sick on Friday.

They report that Sterling not only called in sick on Friday, but he has also been nursing a separate back issue.

As I say, there is no indication or confirmation of how bad the back injury or illness is, but it seems pretty certain that it is likely to keep him out of any involvement in the game this evening, although we will have to wait for official confirmation of the squad later on to be sure of that.
