Chelsea captain Magda Eriksson and attacker Pernille Harder have officially been unveiled as Bayern Munich players.

The German club announced their double signing via a post on their official club website just a short time ago.

The news comes as no surprise with both players having been heavily linked with moves to Bayern Munich after their Chelsea departures were announced last month. It has been reported that both players have signed three-year deals with their new club.

After signing on at Bayern Munich, defender Eriksson said “I had a good feeling from the start. FC Bayern is an extraordinary club with an impressive history. I’m really looking forward to getting to know my new colleagues, winning together, developing myself individually and also getting to know the culture of the club.”

Attacker Harder added “FC Bayern is a great club, the players and the team have a lot of potential. I really wanted to be a part of it. I also got a good impression of Alexander Straus. I had a good time in the Bundesliga and am happy to be returning after three years.”

Eriksson was a Chelsea player for six years. She helped The Blues to win 12 trophies including this season’s Barclays Women’s Super League title and the Vitality Women’s FA Cup. Teammate and partner Harder has been with Chelsea for the last three years, winning seven trophies with The Blues.

Eriksson and Harder should add further strength to a Bayern Munich team that will be looking to push for the UEFA Women’s Champions League title in the coming years.
