The Chelsea owners have agreed a deal to sign a former Manchester City player on a free transfer for the summer window.

The news comes after Chelsea went down 2-0 against Newcastle United away from home on Sunday lunch time in a crucial game for the race for Champions League football next season.

Chelsea needed to win this game as much as Newcastle did, but a first half sending off by Nicolas Jackson did not help their cause. Enzo Maresca has admitted that Jackson now needs to learn from this situation moving forward.

Sky Sports pundit Jamie Carragher now believes that Chelsea have a big problem after this defeat with just two games remaining of the season and the reality being that The Blues need two wins to guarantee a place in the Champions League for next season.

BlueCo working on deals

BlueCo, who now own Chelsea and Strasbourg, are working on a number of transfer deals to get done for the summer transfer window.

The Chelsea owners are looking to get deals done on a number of deals involving Chelsea and Strasbourg players, as well as potential new players for each club.

Deal agreed for Egan-Riley

According to talkSPORT today, Burnley defender CJ Egan-Riley is close to joining Strasbourg on a free.

Egan-Riley is out of contract and has been offered a five-year deal by BlueCo to join Strasbourg.

The 22-year-old is a Manchester City academy graduate, and he’s been with Burnley for three seasons now.

I think this would be a very smart coup from Chelsea’s owners for a top player to arrive in Ligue 1 next season.
