Chelsea are apparently now scouting a new striker from the Portuguese league who’s name is not Viktor Gyokeres unfortunately.
Maybe they could actually do with this striker right now, or any striker in fact, because they have a bit of a striker crisis themselves.
Chelsea have a real striker injury crisis on their hands right now as news broke that Nicolas Jackson will now be out until April.
The season ends soon after that so by the time he recovers, trains for a bit, and gets back on the pitch, he wont have much more of a part to play in this season.
Chelsea are also without Marc Guiu, who is looking like he could be absent for a similar amount of time as Jackson due to injury as well.
But unfortunately they cannot sign any new striker right now until the summer window, unless of course they attack the free agent market. But there aren’t too many choices there.
They are scouting a new striker name for the summer though apparently.

Chelsea fans would love to be hearing that the club are moving for Sporting striker Viktor Gyokeres. However, for this story in particular, it is his backup option that Chelsea are keen on.
Chelsea have apparently had scouts watch Harder, who is valued at €18million (approximately £15m) on several occasions as they look to recruit a new no.9 to compete with Nicolas Jackson.
I’d much rather be writing that Chelsea are making an offer to sign Gyokeres in the summer than this, but oh well…
