Chelsea are reportedly ‘no closer’ to agreeing new deals with academy graduates Tammy Abraham and Reece James.
The Blues have made a note of tying down their brightest Cobham generation in years, rewarding Fikayo Tomori, Mason Mount, Callum Hudson-Odoi and Billy Gilmour with fresh terms this season.
However, according to Telegraph Sport, progress on both players ‘has not been as fast as hoped’ with talks beginning to stall.
Abraham signed a new deal worth £50,000-a-week before joining Swansea in 2017, but is expecting parity with Hudson-Odoi (£150,000-a-week) after netting 13 goals in 21 appearances under Frank Lampard.
James also penned fresh terms before joining Wigan last summer and will seek bonuses based on his increased first-team importance.
Both players are under contract until 2022.
