Chelsea are reportedly revisiting the possibility of building a new 60,000-seater stadium in the Earls Court area of West London.

The Blues had first mooted the idea back in 2013 only for the Hammersmith and Fulham Council to veto the plan.

However, according to the Daily Mail, it is back on the table as the club look to significantly increase their matchday capacity.

Stamford Bridge currently holds just over 40,000, which leaves Chelsea lagging behind eight other Premier League clubs.

The newspaper quoted a source as saying a move to Earls Court was “not on the cards, but not impossible. Things can change.”

The Earls Court site was reportedly sold to property developers for £425m in 2019, but is still undeveloped.

Chelsea are understood to have two other options – a phased redesign of their existing stadium or the purchase of a 1.2 acre site next to it for £50m.
