Chelsea midfielder Kateřina Svitková has joined Czech 1. liga žen club Slavia Prague on a loan deal for the remainder of the season.

WSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from The Blues this morning.

Svitková is rebuilding her fitness following a couple of long-term injuries and the temporary move back to her native Czech Republic should allow her to get some much needed game time. The midfielder has been sidelined for the best part of a year with injuries and she will be hoping for some better luck with her fitness in the remaining months of the season.

Chelsea signed Svitková in summer 2022 on a free transfer following the expiry of her contract with former club West Ham United. The player made just three appearances for The Blues in the Barclays Women’s Super League last season while she has not been available for selection at any point this term. When fully-fit, Svitková can be a real talent, she has been named the Czech Women’s Footballer of the Year on multiple occasions in the past.

Svitková is under contract with Chelsea until summer 2025 therefore if she proves her fitness during her time at Slavia Prague, the player could return and impress the new Blues manager next season.
