Chelsea matchwinner Kai Havertz delivered a passionate reaction after victory in the Champions League final.
The 21-year-old German winger has had questions asked of him this season, and has largely not lived up to his £73m price-tag since he joined the Blues from Bayer Leverkusen last summer.
But he has now written his name into their history books after his first-half goal was enough to see Chelsea win their second Champions League title as he rounded City goalkeeper Ederson to score in an empty net.
Speaking in an interview with BT Sport following the full-time whistle, a visibly emotional Havertz said: “I don't know what to say, I really don't know what to say. We deserved it, now we celebrate.
“I waited a long time, I just want to thank my family, my parents, my brother, my sister, my grandmother, my girlfriend. I don't know what to say."
He was then asked about the pressure of being Chelsea's most expensive player ever, and replied: "To be honest, right now, I don't give a f*** about that. We won the f****** Champions League and we're celebrating right now."
