Here is what went down around the grounds.

Chelsea take gutsy point off Man City

Scorers: Rodri 82ā€² ; Sterling 42ā€²

A gutsy Chelsea showing saw the Londoners take a point off of Manchester City at the Etihad.

It was a quick start for the champions as they fashioned a chance for JuliƔn Ɓlvarez from the edge of the box inside the opening 90 seconds, but the Argentine sent his effort wide.

Erling Haaland followed that miss up with one of his own, somehow sending his point-blank header high and wide. But Cityā€™s threat had been growing.

The best chance fell to Nicolas Jackson after the striker got in behind the Man City defence, but a heroic Ederson came out to sweep up the danger.

The Etihad crowd was stunned in the dying minutes of the half when a rip-roaring Chelsea counterattack was capped off by Raheem Sterling against his former team.

City looked to respond after the break with a lightning-quick counterattack of their own, but Haalandā€™s effort from a Phil Foden cross was skewed wide.

Haalandā€™s night got even worse in the final 15 minutes when he missed another point-blank header to pull the score level.

After plenty of knocking, City finally knocked the door down through a Rodri strike from the edge of the box to pull the hosts level with ten minutes remaining.

It was too-little, too-late for the home side however, as Chelsea hung on to take a point off the reigning champions.

Gunning for the title

Scorers:Ā Ć˜degaard 5ā€², Saka (PEN) 41ā€² 47ā€², Trossard 66ā€², Havertz 78ā€², Havertz 80ā€²

Arsenal were at their imperious best as they beat Burnley 5-0 at Turf Moor.

Mikel Arteta named an unchanged side from the one that hammered West Ham last time out with the Arsenal looking to leapfrog Manchester City and go into second place.

It took the visitors just five minutes to take the lead as Martin Ƙdegaard found space on the edge of the area and rifled an effort home.

The Gunners were in complete control and doubled their lead just before half time as Trossard was fouled inside the area and Saka netted from the penalty spot.

Arsenal needed just two minutes of the second half to go three goals ahead as Saka bagged his second of the afternoon.

A fourth was forth-coming soon after as Trossard scored for the second game in a row.

Kai Havertz got in on the act in the last 10 minutes as he scored Arsenalā€™s fifth with a neat finish.

Watkins wins it

Scorers:Ā Muniz 61ā€²; Watkins 23ā€² 56ā€²

Ollie Watkins was the hero for Aston Villa as his double helped the Villains beat Fulham 2-1.

Aston Villa were rocked by the news of Boubacar Kamaraā€™s ACL injury in midweek with the Villains now on the outside looking in of the top four.

Villa had the ball in the back of the net early on but Watkins effort was ruled out for offside.

But the England international didnā€™t let that deter him as Watkins broke the deadlock on 23 minutes to give the visitors a lead.

Villa once again thought they had scored with just a few minutes remaining in the first half, but Alex Morenoā€™s header was ruled out for a foul in the build up.

After the break Watkins doubled his tally for the afternoon as he scored again just before the hour mark.

The Cottagers hadnā€™t really had a sniff up to the hour mark but against the run of play pulled one back as Rodrigo Muniz continued his fine run of form in front of goal.

Late show at St Jamesā€™ Park

Scorers:Ā Gordon (PEN) 58ā€² Richie 90+2ā€²; Solanke 51ā€², Semenyo 69ā€²

Matt Richie scored his first goal of the campaign to earn Newcastle a late 2-2 draw with Bournemouth.

Newcastle were unbeaten in three games coming into this clash with the Magpies now 10 points off the top four.

The Cherries had the best chance in the opening exchanges as Solankeā€™s low effort was saved well by Dubravka after good work from Kluivert down the right-hand side.

Andoni Iraloaā€™s men looked confident of taking a result here and got themselves ahead just after the break as Solanke crashed in one of the easiest goals of his career.

Their lead lasted all of seven minutes however as Anthony Gordon netted from the penalty spot to level for the Magpies.

Bournemouth could have been overawed at that point but they pulled themselves together and restored their lead with 20 minutes to go through Antoine Semenyo.

In added time though, Newcastle earned themselves a point as Matt Richie came off the bench and scored a late equaliser.

Phillipsā€™ nightmare continues

Scorers:Ā Awoniyi 45+5ā€², Hudson-Odoi 90+4ā€²

Taiwo Awoniyi was Nottingham Forestā€™s hero as his first half goal was enough to see the hosts beat West Ham 2-0.

Could West Ham recover from their battering at the hands of Arsenal last weekend? David Moyesā€™ future depended on it with reports that the Hammers coach could be on his way out.

It was a desperately turgid opening half an hour with neither side able to get into any sort of rhythm.

But the deadlock was broken with literally the last kick of the half as Awoniyi struck home.

Kalvin Phillipsā€™ nightmare season continued after the break with the West Ham midfielder getting sent off for two bookable offences.

Forest wrapped up the win in the final moments as Callum Hudson-Odoi scored with a fine finish.

Joao Gomes stars

Scorers:Ā Kulusevski 46ā€²; Joao Gomes 42ā€² 63ā€²

Wolves produced a brilliant backs-to-the-wall display to stun Spurs and win 2-1 in north London.

Heing-min Son returned to the Spurs starting XI for this afternoonā€™s clash with the South Korea captain back from the Asian Cup.

It was the away side who really should have opened the scoring early on as Hwang fired over from six yards when it looked easier to score.

Wolves were much the better side in the first half and took the lead late on as Joao Gomes headed in Sarabiaā€™s corner.

Spurs flew out of the blocks in the second half though as Kulusevski bundled his way into the box and poked in an equaliser after 40 seconds.

The hosts were looking much better now but as they pushed for a second, Wolves countered.

Pedro Neto used his pace to get away from the Spurs defence before pulling a ball back for Joao Gomes who struck in first time.

Salah sensational

Scorers:Ā Toney 75ā€²; Darwin 35ā€², Mac Allister 55ā€², Salah 69ā€², Gakpo 86ā€²

Liverpool went five points clear at the top of the Premier League with a 4-1 win over Brentford.

Conor Bradley had the visitors best chance of the opening exchanges, driving into the Brentford area before flicking an effort low to Mark Flekkenā€™s left-hand corner.

In what was an absorbing first 30 minutes, the Bees went close again through Christian NĆørgaard whilst Diogo Jota also fired over at the other end.

The deadlock was broken however on 35 minutes as Liverpool broke with pace before Darwin Nunez finished with a stunning lob over the goalkeeper.

Into the second half and the visitors doubled their lead on 55 minutes as Alexis Mac Allister glided into the penalty area and slotted home for his second ever Liverpool goal.

Salah returned to the team for the first time since New Yearā€™s Day and got his goal with 20 minutes to go as he beat Nathan Collins to the ball and fired in.

It looked like being a stroll for Liverpool at this point but the hosts pulled a goal back moments later as Toney pounced to fire in a follow-up.

Liverpool restored their three-goal advantage late on as Gakpo pounced on some poor defending before finishing calmly.

Sunday sees Brighton travel to Sheffield United and Luton host Manchester United.
