Chelsea have approached Nottingham Forest to discuss the conditions of a potential deal for centre-back Murillo.
The 21-year-old was a big hit after arriving from Corinthians in a £11m deal last summer with the defender named as Nottingham Forest’s Player of the Season for the 2023-24 campaign.
Chelsea have been impressed with the progress of the Brazilian, who ranked in the top three percent of centre-backs for clearances per game across Europe’s top five leagues last season.
Brazilian outlet UOL has revealed that Chelsea have approached Nottingham Forest to enquire into the player’s availability and potential price tag.
The West Londoners have seen Thiago Silva depart at the expiration of his contract and there are doubts over the future of Trevoh Chalobah, who continues to be linked with Premier League rivals.
Forest made a bid to sign Chalobah last summer and it has been suggested Chelsea could look to offer players in exchange in a bid to bring down an asking price of around £50m, with Forest convinced Murillo will go on to become a full Brazil international.
The defender has hinted he could leave the City Ground and revealed he has received ‘some official’ offers this summer.
“I’ve received a few offers. Some official, others sounding out,” Murillo said to Brazilian show Os Donos da Bola.
“I’ll take it up with my agent. They were clubs from England, Italy and Germany.
“If I stay at Nottingham, I’ll do my best. If I leave, I hope they respect my decision. I’m calm and analysing it in the best way.”
