One Chelsea legend has returned to Cobham this week in some beautiful moments that were picked up by the cameras.
The word ‘legend’ is thrown around far too easily in this day and age, so there could well be some debate as to whether this guy is a Chelsea legend or not.
But in my eyes, Thiago Silva, the way he is adored so much by Chelsea fans and the love he has for the club still, makes him a legend.
Silva left Chelsea in the summer to continue his playing career back in his native land of Brazil. He wanted to end his career there. It was tough to see him leave Chelsea, even though it seems pretty obvious that he will be back working at the club again one day in the future as he does his coaching badges to continue his football career onwards after he stops playing.
In Brazil, the season is over, and Silva has been back in London. He was at Stamford Bridge on Sunday watching The Blues beat Brentford 2-1, and now he has been spotted at Cobham yesterday.
As you can see in the images above, Silva met some of his former team mates and also new manager Enzo Maresca, celebrating the club’s annual Christmas event with academy kids involved as well.
There was a nice moment when he met and embraced Enzo Fernandez again, as well as Nicolas Jackson and others.
It’s so great to see the main man back. I know he is missed at the club and not just by the fans. I think signing him at the time was a genius move and we have Frank Lampard to thank for that.
