One Chelsea Football Club legend is now one step closer to finally taking a new management position, according to a report last night.
Said legend wasn’t only a player for the club and one of the best to ever play for Chelsea, he has also had two stints as a manager there too.
His legacy though is of course as a player rather than a manager, where he wasn’t quite as successful. But Frank Lampard will forever have a special place in the hearts of Chelsea fans for what he achieved in the pitch as part of THE most successful team The Blues have ever had.
Lampard has been out of a job for a while now as he awaits a suitable position to take up, and now it seems like he might have found one and is close to taking one.
Lampard close to Coventry role
And now, according to The Daily Mirror, Lampard has moved one step closer to the vacant job at Coventry City after holding advanced talks with the club.
Lampard has now been out of management since the end of the 2023 campaign where he won just one game out of eleven back at Chelsea during what was a really turmoil time at the club.
And now it looks like he is prepared to drop a league in order to kind of start again as a head coach if you like.
Lampard seems determined to make it as a manager in football after being one of the best midfielders to ever play the game. But I can’t help thinking that he might be more suited to a director role in the board room. But I truly hope that he can prove me wrong in that sense and make it as a manager.
