With the uncertainty of Marcos Alonso and Emerson Palmieri’s futures at Chelsea, the Blues are starting to identify potential wing-back options.

We have seen a list of names linked so far, but today Chelsea have been linked to a new player and that is Burnley’s Maxwel Cornet.

According to Talk Sport’s, Alex Crook, Chelsea are ‘keeping tabs’ on left-winger Maxwel Cornet, with Cornet ready to leave following the club’s relegation from the Premier League.

It is said the winter is available at just £17.5million this summer.

The Ivory Coast was a standout player in the Clarets side despite their struggles last season, scoring nine goals and providing two assists.

The versatility of the player is also said to be ‘attractive’ for Thomas Tuchel, where the Ivory Coast international can also play wing-back, which certainly fits Tuchel’s system.

This deal would tick a lot of boxes for me, since he is cheap and is a good player on his day.
