Aaron Anselmino joined Boca Juniors at the age of twelve and worked hard to climb up the ladders. He broke into the senior team last year and managed to impress everyone at the highest level. As a result, he has established himself as an exciting talent in his homeland.

Anselmino is fast and would suit well in a high backline. He uses both his legs for passing and tries to deliver the ball to the wingers to exploit the pitch higher. He prefers cutting down the space rather than making unnecessary tackles. With great ability on the ball, the player is a press-resistant defender.

Despite making good early progress, the 19-year-old doesn’t get the game time he deserves. He has featured in only four games this season, in which he got a game to his name. He would definitely want to play more to improve his game.

Why does Chelsea want Aaron Anselmino?

Chelsea’s alleged interest in young Aaron Anselmino isn’t surprising at all as they have been aggressively investing in young buds over the past few seasons. The club find the player as an attracting pick and believe he can transform into an elite defender.

With Thiago Silva leaving the club in the summer, and the uncertainty over the future of Trevoh Chalobah and Benoit Badiashile, the Blues are bound to bring in a fresh defender. Though Anselmino isn’t a direct replacement, the youngster could be a long-term investment.

The Argentine will cost something around €25 million, which shouldn’t be an issue for the English club. However, they should be quick in sealing the deal as Manchester United have also registered their interest in acquiring the player.
