Earlier this week, it was reported that Manchester United are lining up Real Sociedad goalkeeper Alex Remiro as a possible replacement for the under-fire Andre Onana. Remiro has had another fine season in La Liga, and he was also impressive in the Champions League, as La Real reached the knockout stages.

It’s not only Man Utd that are keeping tabs on Remiro, as MD have now reported that Chelsea are also interested in the 29-year-old, who will almost certainly be heading to this summer’s European Championship with Spain.

Both clubs have already notified Remiro’s representatives of their interest, and this has been relayed to La Real, who are said to be relaxed about the situation. They have a strong layer of protection, as his release clause is currently set at €70m.

Chelsea already have Spanish ‘keeper Robert Sanchez and also Djordje Petrovic in their ranks, but Remiro would certainly be an upgrade. It remains to be seen whether they or Man Utd try to enter into negotiations with Real Sociedad.
