Jadon Sancho was the big name arrival for Chelsea this transfer deadline day even though they missed out on late attempts to sign Victor Osimhen from Napoli.

Sancho joined on loan from Manchester United in what was a very eventful day for Chelsea and the fans following along with proceedings.

Sancho came in and was finally officially confirmed by Chelsea last night. After that, the club soon put out the first interview with Sancho along with all his media work.

Sancho’s first words as a Blue

‘I’m really excited to be here,’ Sancho smiled in word with the Chelsea website. ‘London is where I grew up and I’m happy to be back.

‘It’s been a bit crazy. Obviously, it was the last day of the transfer window so it’s expected to be a bit crazy, but I’m really happy it’s all finally done.

‘Chelsea is iconic. My idols growing up were Didier Drogba and Frank Lampard and now I have the opportunity to play for this club like them. It’s a great feeling.

‘I think it’s the manager who really drew me to the project.

‘I knew him from his time with Pep Guardiola in Manchester City. He spoke to me on the phone about this project and what he was building here, and for a young player like myself it’s exciting and I can’t wait to get started.

‘I enjoy his style of play. The wingers when they get on the ball, he loves them to go one versus one and be direct. We play a lot of one-twos with the 10s and the striker combination plays. It’s very attractive and it’s a style that I play.

‘I know Tosin and Cole Palmer – he was younger than me when I was at City. I haven’t had a chance to speak to them yet, but I’m sure I will soon. They’re going to be looking out for me, I’m sure.

‘I want to bring goals and assists. I’m a skilful player and I want to bring excitement to the Bridge. Hopefully, it will turn out well.’
