Chelsea interested in yet another striker as current options fall short | OneFootball

Chelsea are one of the teams who have made enquiries about Lille’s red hot striker Johnathan David, Canadian sports network TSN have reported today.

It’s crazy to hear that – we were all so convinced two years ago that Timo Werner was the missing piece of the puzzle. When he struggled, we convinced ourselves Romelu Lukaku was the answer.

Now it looks like we’re once again scouting Europe’s top forwards to try and find the person to take up the mantle last held by Diego Costa as a competent and consistent number 9 for Chelsea.

We can’t see a move being imminent – the club will want to give their current options as much time as possible to work out. But if their struggles continue, and David continues banging in the goals in Ligue 1 (he has 12 in 21 games this season), it may prove hard for the club to resist making an effort to bring him in.
