Chelsea have received a boost ahead of the club’s clash with Tottenham Hotspur next week after Nicolas Jackson resumed first-team training.
The Senegal striker has been absent since sustaining a hamstring injury against West Ham on February 2nd. Chelsea have lost three of their five Premier League games in Jackson’s absence and were also eliminated from the FA Cup at Brighton.
The 23-year-old is closing in on a return after the international break, having rejoined training with Enzo Maresca’s side.
It’s a big boost for the Blues, who are battling to secure Champions League qualification. Chelsea are fourth in the Premier League table, though there’s just five points between the West Londoners and Bournemouth in 10th.
The club’s next league fixture is a London derby at home to Tottenham Hotspur on Thursday 3rd April.
Jackson has scored nine goals and provided five assists in 22 league starts during the current campaign. He also boasts a strong record against Spurs, having netted four times in three previous appearances against the North London outfit.
