We’re in the heart of the football season, with games coming left right and centre – but transfers never sleep.

Certainly not when Sport Witness are concerned, as they translate reports from all over the world. Up now is young Gabriel, a goalkeeping phenomenon from Brazil. Chelsea, along with other European teams, are interested in the 17 year old net-minder, despite his tender age. He reportedly has a release clause of €7m, steep for a teenager.

Usually youngsters graduate to Flamengo or Sao Paolo or one of the larger Brazilian sides before their European moves, but not Gabriel, who is still at Bahia.

Chelsea can’t sign him up now, as he’s not yet 18. But as soon as he has his birthday, or gets a European passport, he will be fair game for all interested parties.

Real Valladolid are said to be interested, but let’s face it – if Chelsea want him, they will get him.
