Chelsea 'have no plans' to involve striker Romelu Lukaku, who is currently on loan at Inter Milan, at Stamford Bridge in the future TV Dello Sport journalist Rudy Galetti has told GIVEMESPORT.

The 29-year-old was brought to West London from Inter Milan back in 2021 for £97.5 million, though endured a frustrating spell in front of goal in 2021/22.

Last summer, Inter Milan solicited a deal to take Lukaku on loan from Chelsea just one season after he left the San Siro. Structurally, the Serie A giants paid £6.9 million up front, with a further £3.4 million fee included in bonuses.

Lukaku took a 30% pay cut to leave Chelsea last summer, with his wages being paid in full by his loan club Inter Milan for the duration of the 2022/23 campaign.

Making just ten appearances for the Nerazzurri in all competitions this term, Lukaku has scored just twice and recorded one assist in an injury-ravaged spell, as per Transfermarkt.

What has Rudy Galetti said about Romelu Lukaku?

Italian journalist Rudy Galetti thinks that there is no way back for Lukaku at Chelsea and has revealed that Inter Milan are contemplating whether or not to take him on loan again this season.

Galetti informed GMS: "In the summer, Inter and Chelsea reached a general understanding, a verbal agreement, not written or official, to possibly renew the loan of Lukaku for the next season.

"However, his bad performances so far are making Inter think and Chelsea have no plans for him for the future."

What will the next step be for Romelu Lukaku?

At this point, it is hard to tell whether Lukaku will end up staying at Inter Milan beyond this season on loan. Nevertheless, he looks very unlikely to come back into the fold at Stamford Bridge if he returns from his loan move in the summer.

In 2021/22 at the Blues, the 29-year-old netted 15 times and recorded two assists in 44 outings; however, there were concerns over his suitability to link up with their other forward players at times in their attacking system.

His time at Inter Milan has not gone swimmingly so far, though injury has fairly played its part and a return to full consistent fitness could help Lukaku to get himself back to his usual goalscoring self.

If that doesn't transpire, we could well see the striker move on in the summer as he looks to maximise his unquestionable talent at the peak of his career.
