Chelsea great Didier Drogba has angrily resigned from local players' association AFI.

Droga had worked as vice-president of AFI in his home country, Ivory Coast.

But now he is resigning from his role and has lambasted the organisation in an open letter.

"We are all aware of the financial difficulties created by inactivity of the majority of the leaders of the player organisation AFI, which is there to represent you (the players) and defend your rights and interests. AFI stands still. They no longer meet your needs or expectations," Drogba wrote on social media.

"They have signed several pacts and conventions without taking the players into account and without informing their members."
