The Blues announced the news via a post on their official club website this evening.
Soper joined Chelsea from FA Women’s National League Southern Premier Division club Plymouth Argyle on a dual-registration basis back in February 2022. The move has provided Soper with the opportunity to train as a full-time professional player and learn from fellow goalkeepers Ann-Katrin Berger and Zećira Mušović.
The youngster never made an appearance for The Blues, however, she was named as a substitute as Emma Hayes’ side defeated Tottenham Hotspur 2-1 at Kingsmeadow in April.
Soper is the second goalkeeper to join Barclays Women’s Championship club Charlton Athletic this summer. The Addicks have also completed the signing of Aston Villa stopper Sian Rogers on a season-long loan deal. The pair will battle for the number one jersey at The Oakwood this season.
Charlton Athletic have signed two players in the current transfer window who were on Chelsea’s books last season. Goalkeeper Soper has followed former Chelsea WSL Academy League star Tegan McGowan in signing for the South East Londoners.
Charlton Athletic are bidding to win promotion to the Barclays Women’s Super League this season in their second campaign as a full-time professional club.
