Chelsea forward Sam Kerr said she will rush back to action from her second ACL injury.
Kerr suffered the second ACL of her career in January with the injury curtailing her campaign and forcing the Australian to miss the Paris Olympics.
Her absence was a major blow for The Matildas all-time record scorer, who has 69 goals in 128 caps and also missed the 2012 Olympic tournament through injury.
Chelsea will want the prolific forward back in action as soon as possible, though Kerr has insisted she will not jeopardise the longevity of her career by rushing back. The 30-year-old has scored 99 goals in 128 games for Chelsea since joining the West Londoners from Chicago Red Stars.
“I’m not putting a date on my return, just making sure I get it right and making sure I feel good before I get back on the pitch,” Kerr said in an interview with Optus Sport this week.
“I mean, it’s my second ACL, so I know you need to take the time, you need to make sure it’s right and I’m doing everything I can. But definitely no rush for me, I want to make sure I can play for many more years to come.”
