Nicolas Jackson is no longer part of Enzo Maresca's plans at Chelsea. The Italian manager confirmed this on Friday, August 15, 2025, stating that the Senegalese striker is free to leave the club before the transfer window shuts.
Jackson will not be involved in Chelsea's opening match against Crystal Palace this Sunday. Enzo Maresca confirmed the Senegal striker's absence during Friday's pre-match press conference, highlighting the uncertainty surrounding his future at the club.
"He is training with us, but he won't play the match," Enzo said before adding, "You already know the situation. The transfer window is open, he could leave, and we'll see," when asked whether he expects Jackson to depart the club.
Nicolas Jackson has endured a difficult period at Stamford Bridge since the arrival of the new Italian manager. The 24-year-old striker's situation has become more complicated following the signings of Liam Delap and Joao Pedro this summer. The former Villarreal player now finds himself on the fringes of the Blues' project and is actively exploring transfer options before the summer window closes.
