Raheem Sterling is one of the most confusing players we can remember having at Chelsea.
He’s somehow capable of having a good game and a bad game at the same time, and last night was a great example. He ended the game with a goal and an assist, and an incredible 9.6 rating from WhoScored.
Yet at times he was going down bind alleys and making bad decisions, as he tends to do for long periods at a time. Even his assist was essentially a pass blocked by a defender which popped up to Enzo Fernandez to slot home.
But then he bends a great free kick into the top corner, and makes a few dashes into the box that really throw the opposition into disarray.
If you ask Chelsea fans who they want out wide for our next game, there will likely still be more saying Mykhailo Mudryk than Sterling to play opposite Cole Palmer, even though the Englishman has more goals and more assists.
Maybe we will never figure out the curious case of Raheem Sterling…
