Joao Felix has had a super start as a Chelsea player.
If it wasn’t for one silly tackle which earned him a red on his debut, and about 3 slices of very bad luck, he’s have more goals to go with his assists and people would be going even more mad.
The problem is, while some fans have already decided we’re signing him – we can’t guarantee it.
We know Christopher Nkunku is joining in the summer for €70m – is there room in this crowded attacking setup for him as well as Felix?
We may just have to find a way of making it work if he keeps playing well. But we can’t be sure he’s coming. Just look at what Atletico Madrid captain Koke thinks: he’s as confident that Felix is returning as most Chelsea players are that he’s staying.
“[João Félix and Matheus Cunha] were important players within the team. They made the decision to leave [in January]. João left temporarily and Cunha transferred. They are decisions of each one. Totally respectable.,” [WAGNH]
“João is picking up the rhythm of the games, he is gaining confidence for the coming season to come back here.”
Let’s hope he’s just doing his captain’s duty and towing the party line.
