Chelsea are reportedly confident of securing a summer deal for Leicester defender Ben Chilwell, but face a major stumbling block over the potential transfer fee.
The Blues have held long-term interest in Chilwell who remains high on their shortlist for the upcoming transfer window.
But according to Goal, Leicester will demand a ‘huge fee’ for the 23-year-old who still has four years left on his current deal.
The Foxes are in a strong financial position – especially if they qualify for the Champions League next season – and will point to Harry Maguire as an example who joined Manchester United for £80m last year.
Chelsea have identified Porto defender Alex Telles and Getafe wing-back Marc Cucurella as potential options should they feel priced out.
One of Emerson Palmeri and Marcos Alonso are expected to leave Stamford Bridge this summer despite both wanting to stay.
