Barcelona will reportedly do everything within their power to sign Corinthians starlet Gabriel Moscardo ahead of Chelsea, according to SPORT.
They believe in Moscardo’s talents and are ready to do anything to get the 18-year-old midfielder.
Barca believe the defensive midfielder is much more suited to their technical style of play, and it is now or never for them to clinch his signature ahead of Chelsea.
Their sporting director, Deco, is already planning for next season, and one position he wants to address is the holding midfield area.
Barcelona have only Oriol Romeu as an archetypal defensive midfielder, and even though Frenkie de Jong can fill the role, they know it is not the best use of his abilities.
They have their mind set on adding another defensive midfielder to their ranks, and Deco is eyeing a move for Moscardo.
Chelsea have been in talks with Corinthians about signing their midfield gem and will be hoping they can pip the Catalans to his signature.
The Blues also face competition from Barcelona and Real Madrid in the race to sign 15-year-old American Julian Hall, per the Evening Standard.
Hall became the second-youngest player ever to play in Major League Soccer as he debuted for the New York Red Bulls last week.
He recently signed a new contract until 2026, but Chelsea, Manchester United, Manchester City, Barcelona, Madrid and Bayern Munich have him on their radar.
Chelsea first took notice of Hall when he netted twice against them in an Under-15s Generation Adidas Cup match in April.
They have been scouting him since then and want to bring him for a trial in London ahead of his 16th birthday in January.
Chelsea now face battles to sign Hall and Moscardo amidst interest from other top European clubs.
