In a recent tweet, Sky Sports Germany journalist Marc Behrenbeck stated that Chelsea are eyeing a move for VfB Stuttgart full-back Borna Sosa. It has been claimed that the Blues could face competition from Inter Milan as well as a few other clubs in the race to land the Croatia international.

Sosa’s Impressive Run Of Form In German Football This Season

The 24-year-old has enjoyed a decent campaign with the German outfit after putting in a series of productive performances for them over the past few months. Sosa has netted two goals and secured four assists in 18 matches for Stuttgart this season in all competitions.

What Will Sosa Bring To Chelsea?

Sosa is usually quick to spot the danger and doesn’t shy away from clearing his lines when needed. He is primarily an attack-minded left-back who has got the ability to create some decent openings for his teammates in the final third.

The five-time Croatia international can even deliver a few dangerous crosses into the opponent’s penalty box. Plus, he can make some clever runs with the ball down the left flank.

Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel has currently got Ben Chilwell out of action due to injury. Marcos Alonso remains his only option for the left wing-back position. Sosa is good enough to offer some healthy competition for Alonso at Stamford Bridge in the second half of this campaign.

Therefore, it makes sense for Chelsea to engineer a move to sign the Croat sensation this month. Sosa will enhance the quality of Tuchel’s match-day squad and could help the Blues compete on multiple fronts during this campaign.

With all things considered, Sosa will bring some much-needed creativity to Chelsea’s wing department and could go on to become a future star at the West London club when he enters his prime in the coming seasons.
