Chelsea defender Rudiger says farewell to staff and fans at local hospital
Tribal Football
Chelsea defender Toni Rudiger has said his farewell to staff and fans ahead of his move to Real Madrid.
Rudiger will bring his five years at Stamford Bridge to an end on Sunday, with his final game of the season, at home against Watford.
The 29-year-old Germany international is yet to confirm it but he has a deal agreed at Real Madrid and, on Tuesday, he dropped in to say goodbye to patients and staff at the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, sign autographs and pose for some photos.
He handed out gifts to the children and made a donation to the staff's health and wellbeing programme.
Rudiger has developed a close connection to the hospital and its official charity partner CW+ since he arrived in London from Roma in 2017, especially during the coronavirus pandemic when Chelsea allowed NHS staff to use the hotel facilities at Stamford Bridge.
