Bright has won no less than 13 trophies with Chelsea including five league titles. Last season saw the defender become just the third player to make her 200th appearance for the club in all competitions. She became the first player in the club’s history to make 200 starts.

England have also reaped the rewards of Bright’s defensive qualities. She was very much a brick wall in the Lionesses’ back-line as they won the UEFA Women’s EURO for the very first time this summer.

Bright is in the peak of her career and she will now be hoping to continue her form with her club in 2022/2023.

After signing on again with Chelsea, Bright said “Chelsea, the fans, the club, the people. Thank you for all your support so far.

“You’re my home and I can’t wait to continue fighting for more trophies. Cheers to the future!”

Bright joins Jess Carter, Maren Mjelde and youngster Emma Thompson in signing a new deal with The Blues during the close season.
